I couldn’t imagine this world after 50 years when almost anything could be possible. With the advancement of computer technology, everything seems possible. But where are these advances in computer technology heading? Is it for the betterment of the world or for its destruction? Computer technology has made us what we are today, the progress, the modern things we are all enjoying, from the simple electric toothbrush to the most complicated machine we ever saw. Computer technology is becoming a pathway to the possibility of all things. Everything is made possible by computer technology that so many people are trying to find ways and means to better advance it and make more money.
The sad part here is, people are forgetting the more important things in life. The simple things that make man happier and live a peaceful life are now being set aside for more important things which man consider nowadays which is to make money and have a comfortable life. This is because computer technology has made life so complicated and luxurious that everyone wants a part of the luxury available in every corner of this world.
Long time ago, when life was just a simple one, people were content waking up early and going to work then go home and have a good night’s sleep. They enjoy every bit of the simple way of living and there were little worries and problems where daily living was concerned. But when computer technology advanced, so did people’s ways. Children often went to school everyday and enjoyed the day with their teacher and their classmates. Today though is different, children would go with their friends and spend the day in front of the computers fighting their opponents on line. They would just call their parents to inform them that they are with friends through the cellphone. No child today could go without a cellphone because it is the trend today and children would think they are out of place with no gadget with them such as cellphone, MP4, gameboy, PSP, computer and even a laptop.
There maybe countless advantages of the advances of computer technology but what about the disadvantages? What is computer technol;ogy doing to people right now? Because of too much luxury around us, people seem to be very busy making ways to earn money that they forget the more meaningful way of living only intent on how to make more and more money to buy luxury and comfort but setting aside the good values of life. Everything has gone from bad to worse since computer technology has advanced. Scam of all kinds and crimes of all kinds are circulating around the world and it is so easy to perpetrate them because of the computer technology which made it possible for anything to be done.
Why are we facing the many crises today? Why is the most powerful country experiencing what it hasn’t experienced in the past? It is because of computer technology. I would say that simple living is still better than this kind of world we are in. While the advances in computer technology is giving us a lot of advantages and making things easier for us, it is also introducing things that is ruining the lives of the people and the future of so many children.
